Cornelius "Cornie" De Boom
January 21, 1901—December 5, 1993
Cornelius "Cornie" De Boom, 92, of Lake Park, formerly of Harris, passed away Sunday. December 5, at the Lake Park Care Center of Lake Park.
Services will be Wednesday. December 8, at 10:30 a.m. at United Methodist church of Harris with Pastor William McAlpine officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Middleburg Cemetey in Middleburg. Visitation is Tuesday, December 7, from 1 to 9 p.m. with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Andringa Funeral Home in Ocheyedan.
De Boom was born January 21, 1901, in Archer, the son of Cornelius Sr. and Jennie (Boer) De Boom. He lived his youth and attended school in Archer, Sheldon, and Hancock, Minnesota. He moved with his family in 1917 to Round Lake, Minnesota. He moved in 1920, to the home of his brothers in Sioux County, where he worked.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Harris.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sadie and George De Vries of Round Lake and Jeanette and Herman Nibbelink, Jr. of Orange City; two brothers, Henry De Boom of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Simon De Boom of Le Mars; one sister, Lucille Luinstra of Bellflower, California; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
