Mrs. C. De Boom Dies At Daughters Home

Mrs. C. De Boom passed away very suddenly at the home of her son-in-law Albert Vander Kamp and family at Akron early Sunday morning after being ill for only a few days following a heart attack. She had reached the age of 70 years.

Mrs. De Boom made her home at Middleburg for many years and recently purchased the house belonging to Mr. Wm. Riphagen and was ready to move into it in the near future having already moved the furniture into the house, and was spending the past seven months at the home of her children at Akron.

Survivors include eight sons: Arie, Frank, Cornelius and Tony all of this vicinity, Jake of Artesia, Calif.; Henry of Minneapolis, Minn.; John of Worthington, Minn.; and Simon of Ashton. Also two daughters Lucy, Mrs. John Langstra of Artesia, Calif., and Lyda at home. 33 grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter, Marie, Mrs. Albert Vander Kamp, who passed away a few years ago, and also a 15-year-old son. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Scheerhoorn of Sanborn and Mrs. Wm. Bloom of Lake Park, and one brother Gerrit Boer of Wentworth, S.D.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at one o’clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arie De Boom and at 1:45 at the First Reformed church at Middleburg. Rev. Zyistra of Middleburg Christian Ref. will offlciate. Burial will be made at the Sioux Center cemetery.
