Funeral services for Floyd Bristol,67, long time Hawarden resident who died Friday, July 1, were held at 1:30 Tuesday of last week at the Methodist church. Rev. C.E. Custer officiated with burial in Grace Hill cemetery. Graveside military rite were conducted by Two Oakes post of the Americian Legion. Mr. Bristol having been a World War I veteran.

He was born January 21, 1893, in Kansas. Prior to coming to Hawarden 27 years ago he lived in Montana and Huron,SD.

Upon retiring as a railroad brakeman he operated a filling station on the corner of Tenth and Central in partnership with Lowell Larson.

On January 28,1922, he married Ellen Boterman at Davis,SD. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include the widow; a son, James of Waukon, Iowa and three brothers, Verne of Denver, Kenneth of Minneapolis and Orville of San Francisco.

Those from out of town attended the funeral included his three brothers and Verne's daughter, Bernice; his son, James Bristol and son; Rea Hennigan and daughter, Debbie and Al Overly of Dekalb, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bristol of Monmouth, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bruckmiller, Frederick Bruckmiller and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Bruckmiller, all of Sioux Falls, and Sophie and Frank Boterman of Davis, SD.
