Funeral Services for Andrew Berg,60, Mechanic for McCarthy Implenment Co., who died last Wednesday at the Veterans hospital in Sioux Falls after as heart attack, were held at 2 o'clock Monday at the Barnard Funeral home, Rev. W.S. Sebring officiating with birial at Grace Hill cemetery.

Mr. Berg, whose health had been failing since December when he suffered his first heart attack had resumed work for McCarthy Implement several months ago. He became ill while at breakfast and after being examined by a local physician was taken to the hospital in Sioux Falls that afternoon . A Cardiograph was being taken when he suddenly became very Ill. He died at 8 o'clock that evening despite the efforts of the several staff members in attendance.

Mr. Berg was born in Esbjerg, Denmark September 11, 1900 and came to the United States in 1910. He worked for Morris Kvols in Belden, Neb., and came with them to Hawarden in 1936. He married Dorothy Jensen of Alcester September 25, 1941 in Neligh, Neb. and the couple resided in Hawarden a year prior moving to California in 1942 working in civil services during World War II. He was a World War I veteran.

In 1948 they returned to Iowa moving back to their former resident which they bought in June of 1949. He was employed by the implement company until the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Survivors include the widow; one daughter, Marilyn at home; a nephew, Raymond Jensen, who made his home with them after the death of his mother; two sisters, Mrs.Mary Webster of La Belle, MO. and Mrs. Margaret Barkley of Ravinia,SD., a stepmother Matilda Berg, two uncles and aunt, all in Denmark
