IRETON: Funeral services for Mrs. J. M. Brown, 86, a longtime Ireton resident who died Saturday at the Le Mars hospital, were held at 2:30 p. m. Tuesday at the Presbyterian church, Rev. J. Boyd Stevenson, officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery in Ireton.
Mrs. Brown was born December 2, 1865 in Indiana. She came to Iowa with her parents as a child. In 1886 she was united in marriage to J. M. Brown. After her marriage she came to Ireton and resided on a farm here for a number of years.
She was an active member of the Presbyterian church, Presbyterian missionary society and the W. C. T. U.
Her husband and two sons, Clifford and William preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Herbert of Mc Nally, and five daughters, Miss Esther Brown of Evanston, Ill.; Mrs. Florence Preboom of Hawarden; Mrs. Edna Brodie of Le Mars, Mrs. Edith Traux of Chicago, and Mrs. Frances Boyer of Milwaukee. Also 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
