Mrs. Herbert M. Brown, 83, of Ireton died Sunday, Feb. 17, at a hospital in Hawarden.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ireton. The Rev. Paul Sieveking officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. There will be prayer service at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday,at the Dow Funeral Home in Ireton.
Mrs. Brown, the former Ruth C. Kluter, was born Dec. 12, l896 in Ireton and was a lifelong area resident.
She was married July 14, 1919, in Ireton. Mr. Brown died May 19, 1972. She had been a resident of Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Hudson. S.D., for the last six months. .
Survivors include four sons, Ralph of Ireton, Charles and Robert. both of Hudson, and Dr. James of Barron, Wis., a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Trageser of Hawarden; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, William "Ned" of Chester, S.D., and two sisters, Mrs. Bill (Leona) Fischer of Chino, Calif.; and Mrs. Ordean Prince of Sioux City.
