Funeral services for Emil J. Peterson,77, retired farmer who died Friday at Hawarden hospital, were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the First Baptist church, Dr. Franklin M.Morse officiating. Interment was at the Big Springs cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral home.

Mr. Peterson was born June 18, 1884 at Kiron, Iowa and came to this area as a young man. He never married. He retired several years ago and came to town to live with a sister Miss Sarah Peterson. Survivors include a sister, two nieces and a nephew.
