Funeral services for Mrs. Ivar Stenstrom,69,longtime resident of the Big Spring area who died Sunday of last week at the Hawarden hospital, were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday of last week at the Big Spring Baptist church. Rev. Henry E. Nelson officiated with interment at the Big Spring cemetery.

Ruth Carlson was born to Gust and Hilma Carlson in Big Spring township on February 21, 1895, She was baptized in the Big Springs Baptist church of which she remained a member her entire life. On April 5, 1921, she married Ivar Stenstrom, to which union five children were born, four of whom survive. She lived with her family on a farm west of Big Spring until December, 1957, when with her husband and daughter, she moved to their home in Alcester.

Survivors include the widower; one daughter, Janice, at home; three sons, Roger of Alcester, Warren of Torrance, Calif., and Robert of St. Paul, Minn.; a brother, Algot Carlson, and a sister, Mrs. Morris Hongslo, both of Alcester and seven grandchildren.
