Funeral services for Loyce A. Onken,32, of Sioux Falls former Ireton resident, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Andy Onken of Ireton, who died August 27 at the McKennan hospital in Sioux Falls from an injury sustained in an accident the preceding day at Madsen's garage of Sioux Falls where he was employed, were held Saturday morning at St. John's Lutheran church at Luverene, Minn. Rev Lussenhop of Zion Lutheran church there officiated. Burial with military honors was in Maplewood cemetery in Luverne.

Mr. Onken was born February 8, 1932 at Ireton and attended the rural school there, graduating from Ireton High School in 1949. He served two years in the armed forces of which 18 months were spent in Germany. Following his honorable discharge in 1955. He attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND., for two years.

He married Mavis Erickson at Holland, Minn., on October 10 1959. He had been employed at Pipestone, Minn., and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, prior to working in Sioux Falls the past 16 months. He was a member of Zion Lutheran church in Luverne.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter,Lynne at home; his parents of Ireton; two brothers, Lennis of Sioux City and Lamont serving with the armed forces at Fort Riley, Kan., and a sister Mrs. R.C.(LaRue) Wade of Artesia, Calif.
