Funeral services for Mrs. Adolph Hitzemann,61, lifelong Akron resident who died Tuesday, August 18, at a Sioux City hospital after a week's illness were held Friday, August 21, at Trinity Lutheran church in Akron. Rev. Harris Hostager officiating. Burial was in Riverside cemetery in Akron.

Alpha Johnson was born December 14, 1902 at Richland SD., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran church in Elk Point. After attending Akron school she entered business college following which she did secretarial work for a number of years in this area. On February 10, 1927, she married Adolph Hitzemann in the Trinity Lutheran church in Sioux City and they farmed west of Chatsworth.

She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant son and daughter.

Survivors include the widower; a daughter, Mrs. Norman(Margaret)Hartman of Alcester; a son Melvin of Akron; three sisters, Mrs.Fern Amundson of Placentia, Calif., Mrs. Mae Rawlings of Sioux City and Mrs. Gladys Nygard of Elk Point; a brother Carl Johnson of Elk Point and four grandchildren.
