Funeral services for Irvin Berglund,44,owner and operator of Irvin's Beaute Salon in Hawarden, who died from a heart ailment Sunday morning while visiting at Sioux Falls overnight, were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the First Baptist church here. Dr. Franklin Morse officiated with burial in Pleasant Hill cemetery at Alcester under the direction of the Barnard Funeral home.
Mr. Berglund was born August 3, 1920, in Union county, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abel Berglund. He was graduated from Hawarden high school.
For a time he worked as a salesman for the Bahr, Inc.,a cosmetic firm of Sioux Falls, until 1950. He attended Ellis Beauty school of cosmetology in Sioux City aand operted a shop here in 1951. He was a member of the First Baptist church and had served as organist in the church. He never married.
Survivors include his stepmother, Mrs. Ellen Berglund of Hawarden; two sisters, Mrs. Ronald Sherrill of Sioux City and Mrs. Jack Lee of Whittier, Calif., and an aunt, Mrs. Eddie Collar of Sioux Falls. He was a nephew of Mrs. Olive Lundgren and Mrs. Vernice Lundgren, both of Hawarden.
