HILDA M. JONES

Hilda M. Jones, 85, of Hawarden, Iowa, died on Friday, July 2, 1993, at Hass Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden.

Services were held on Tuesday morning, July 6, 1993, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden, where she was a member, the Reverend Loren Vogler officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden, under the direction of the Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden.

Mrs. Jones was born October 21, 1907, at Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Amalia "Molly" (Degen) Trieber. She married Lester Cain on April 21, 1928, at Le Mars, and the couple farmed north of Ireton, Iowa and later west of Hawarden in Union County, South Dakota. Mr. Cain died August 15, 1962. She married Ralph Jones on December 2, 1967, at his farm north of Ireton. They lived in Hawarden, and she worked for many years at Otis Radio in Hawarden. Mr. Jones died June 9, 1972. Mrs. Jones moved to the care center August 7, 1990.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Kenneth and Barb Cain of Sioux City, Iowa; two daughters, Shirley (Mrs. Robert) Hillrichs of Akron, Iowa and Ardis (Mrs. Dallas) Huebner of Hawarden; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Cain of Hawarden; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Edward Treiber, and a son, Erlyn Cain.
