Funeral services for J. William Hendricks,87, of Akron, who died Thursday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Nora Bray, in Sioux City, were held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the First Church of Christ in Akron with burial in Riverside cemetery. Rev. Richard Brown officiated.

Mr. John William Hendricks a former Hawarden resident, was born May 13, 1874 in Moundsville, W. Va.. He married Orpha Allen there on April 7, 1898, and the couple moved to Akron that same year. Mrs.Hendricks died in 1956 and Mr.Hendricks made his home with his daughter Mrs. Bray, since that time. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge of Hawarden and the First Church of Christ in Akron.

Survivors include two daughters,Mrs. Bray and Mrs. Pearl Cemers of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Jennie Foreman of Marietta Ohio; two brothers, Alva and Walter both of Moundsville; three grandchildren and 12 Great grandchildren.
