Funeral services for Clarence E.(Jud) Morgan,72, who died Saturday at the Hawarden hospital, were held at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. Mary's Catholic church, Father L. Friedman officiating. American flags were flown in Hawarden's business district Tuesday in honor of the veteran of World War I. Interment was at St. Mary's cemetery with military graveside rites. The rosary was recited Monday night at the Barnard Funeral home.
Mr. Morgan was born August 17, 1889 in Rock Rapids, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Morgan, early pioneers of Lyon county. He attended school at Rock Rapids and came to Hawarden in the early 1940's from Portland Ore., where he had been employed.
Survivors include two brothers, Matt Morgan of Hawarden and W.H. Morgan of Britton, SD., and three sisters, Mrs. J.A. Slaughter (Rose)of San Francisco, Miss Margaret Morgan of Salt Lake City and Mrs. F.J. McCaffrey (Florence) of Portland
