JEANETTE CAMBIER

Mrs. Richard Cambier, age 92, of Alton, passed away Monday, June 22 at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Thursday (today) at 10 a.m. at the Alton Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Robert Vander Schaaf and Henry Eggink officiating. Interment will follow at Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton, under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home of Orange City.

Mrs. Cambier, the former Jeanette Riedeman, was born Nov, 17, 1894 at Alton, the daughter of Herman Riedeman and Dena Rexwinkel Riedeman. As an adult, she was a school teacher at Alton and Newkirk for eight years.

On Feb. 16, 1921, she married Richard H. Cambier at Alton. They farmed south of Alton for a few years and in 1929 moved to a farm east of Alton where they remained for 55 years. In 1973 their daughter and son-in-law joined them on the farm, allowing "Rich" and "Jen" to semi-retire. In November of 1984, Mr. and Mrs. Cambier both became residents of the Orange City Municipal Nursing Home. Mr. Cambier passed away April 3, 1986 at Orange City.

"Jen" was a member of the Alton Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School classes and was a member of the choir and various women's organizations.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Virginia M. Templeton of Alton; brother, Raymond J. Riedeman of Sanborn; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Floyd Templeton; two brothers, William and Dr. Dores J. Riedeman; two infant sisters and an infant brother.
