Mr. Raymond L. Cambier, age 53, of Alton, passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 19, on arrival at the Orange City Municipal Hospital, after collapsing at the Sioux Golf and Country Club in Alton.

Raymond Lee was born November 11, 1935, at Alton, the son of Clinton Cambier and Frances Noteboom Cambier. He was raised in Alton and became a member of the Air National Guard.

He married Virginia Hagert, and she passed away August 9, 1971, at Sioux City. On November 1, 1973, he married Judith Evelyn Agena at Sanborn. They continued to live in Alton.

Ray had been owner-operator of Midwest Precast and a member of the Alton Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Judy; six children, Suzanne Klinghagen, of Cedar Rapids; Kurt, of Denver, Colorado; Jeanne, and her husband, John Den Hartog of Hospers; Timothy, and his wife, Julie, of Independence; and Carla and Jodi Rae, both of Alton; four grandchildren, Christopher and Joshua Klinghagen and Jantina and Christine Den Hartog; and three brothers, Leland, of Alton; Paul, of Herndon, Virginia; and Roger, of Alton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 22, at the Alton Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Rick Kargaard officiating. Interment followed at Nassau Township Cemetery in Alton, under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
