CLINT CAMBIER DIES IN ACCIDENT

Clinton Cambier, owner of Cambier Sand and Gravel in Alton, was killed late Tuesday morning [May 24] in an accident at his place of business.

Cambier, 69, died at the Orange City Hospital from blood loss, according to attending physician Dr. Paul Vander Kooi. He was transported to the hospital by the Alton Rescue Squad.

Services will be held at the United Presbyterian Church in Alton at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Clarence Greving will officiate and burial will be in the Nassau Toenship Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be at the Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 7:30 until 8:30.

Survivors include his wife Frances, four sons, Ray, Lee and Roger, all of Alton and Paul of Elk Point, S.D., and a brother, Bill of Orange City.

Clinton Cambier

As was reported in last week's newspaper, Clinton Cambier, age 69, of Alton, passed away Tuesday, May 24, after an accident at his sand and gravel business.

He is survived by his wife, Frances, four sons, Ray, Lee, and Roger, all of Alton, Paul of Elk Point, S.D., 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, three brothers, William J. of Orange City, Richard of Alton, Orville of Clarion, and two sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Gladys) Swanson, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mrs. Ray (Lillian) Van Wechtel, Vinton.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 26, at the United Presbyterian Church of Alton where Clint was a member. The Rev. Clarence Greving officiated. Interment was at the Nassau Township Cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home of Orange City.

Pallbearers were William and Donald Freriks, Robert Rohrs, Jack Harriman, Edward Mitchell, and Curtis Punt. Mrs. Karen Boeyink was organist.

ALTON--Services for Clinton Cambier, 69, of Alton were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Clarence Greving officiating. Burial was in Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman Funeral home of Orange City.

Mr. Cambier was dead on arrival Tuesday at an Orange City Hospital where he was taken after being injured in an accident at his business in Alton

Mr. Cambier was born May 3, 1908 in Alton and married Frances Noteboom July 12, 1929, in Sioux City. He operated a sand and gravel business in Alton. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include the widow; four sons, Ray, Lee and Roger, all of Alton, and Paul of Elk Point, SD; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, William J. of Orange City, Richard of Alton, and Orville of Clarion, two sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Gladys) Swanson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Ray (Lillian) Van Wichel of Vinton.
