Obituary: Hawarden, Iowa- Ian Michael White, 27, of Hawarden, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2010 at home in Hawarden.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawarden with Father Roger Linnan and Father William McCarthy concelebrating.
Burial will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday until 4 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Ian Michael White was born November 10, 1982 in San Luis Obispo, California, the son of Bryan and Annette (McCarthy) White. He graduated from El Camino High School in Sacramento in 2000.
Ian loved animals and currently completed an animal behavior program. He was working on an internship at West Sioux Vets in Hawarden, Iowa with Dr. Dick Johnson. He was employed at Quick Corner in Hawarden.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawarden and assisted with religious education.
Ian is survived by his parents, Bryan and Annette White of Hawarden; sister, Cortney Block of Alexandria, Virginia; grandmothers, Gloria McCarthy of Tulare, California and formerly of Hawarden and Nancy White also of Tulare, California; aunts and uncles, Lisabeth White of Tulare, California, Cynthia Morgan and husband Tim of Auburn, California, James McCarthy of Sacramento, California, Daniel McCarthy of San Francisco, California, Teresa Dungan and husband Scott of Tulare, California, and Michelle Mulligan and husband Joe of Selma, California; and many cousins.
Ian was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James McCarthy, Sr. and David White; and cousin, Adam Mulligan.
