Dan Bruyn
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the American Reformed church Orange City for Dan Bruyn, who died following a heart attack Monday. Rev. C. Muyskens officiated.
Mr. Bruyn came to the United States from the Netherlands when he was 16 and had lived in the Orange City area, except for 11 years spent in Minnesota. He served on the city council in Orange City for 18 years. Mr. and Mrs. Bruyn would have celebrate their 65 wedding anniversary December 8.
Surviving are the widow Johanna; two sons, John of Edgerton, Minn. and Frank of Hospers; two daughters, Mary (Mrs. Jake Kraai) of Sheldon and Helene (Mrs. A. Kokenge) of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. John Van Pelt of Glendale, Cal., and Mrs. Netty Maris of Greeley, Colo.; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren
