Mrs. Emil (Alice) Budden, Granville, died Tuesday, July 5, in Orange City Municipal Hospital after a brief illness. Services were held Friday, July 8, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Granville. Rev. Robert Gralapp officiated. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Granville, under direction of the Fisch Funeral Home, Remsen.
Mrs. Budden was born Nov.7, 1929 in Granville to Mr. and Mrs Leo (Clara Hodapp) Croat. She was raised and educated in the Granville area, and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in 1947. She married Emil Budden on Nov. 24, 1947 and the couple lived and farmed near Granville. They retired in 1984 and moved into town.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and Women’s Catholic Order of Foresters, all of Granville. Survivors include three sons, Douglas, Hospers; Steven, Encinitas, Calif., and Kevin, Granville; two daughters, Mrs. Duane (Sharon) Newman, Des Moines, and Kelly Budden, Denver, Colo., and eight grandchildren.
Mrs. Budden was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Emil.
