Mrs Artie Bruyn, 89. of Hospers died Saturday. March 11, in a health center at Sheldon.
Services were held Wednesday in First Presbyterian church in Hospers. Rev. Brian Janssen officiated with burial in the Hospers cemetery. Vander Ploeg Chapel, Hospers, was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs Bruyn, the former Artie Van Oort, was born March 16, 1899, in Orange City. daughter of Wein J. and Adrianna (Lagendyk) Van Oort. She married Frank Bruyn, Feb, 24, 1916 at Orange City. After farming four years near Newkirk, the couple moved to a farm near Edgerton. Minn. In 1950, they moved to Hospers to be near their son. Mr. Bruyn died Nov. 4, 1975.
Mrs Bruyn was a member of First Presbyterian church of Hospers.
Survivors include two sons, Danny and his wife, Elsie of Hospers and Wein and his wile, Polly of Shelby, N.C.; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and two sisters, Mrs Dena Geselschap of Omaha and Mrs Jennie Vander Stoep of Hemet, Calif.
