MRS. DAN BRUYN
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 5, at the American Reformed church of Orange City for Mrs. Dan Bruyn, who passed away at the Grossmann hospital at Orange City Thurday morning from a heart condition and complications. Rev. LeRoy Nattress officiated at the services.
At the services, a nephew of the departed, Chas. Drema, of Edgerton, Minn., sang request selections, and six grandsons served as casket bearers.
Mrs. Bruyn, nee Johanna Vander Stoep, was born June 28, 1876, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Vander Stoep. She was married to Dan Bruyn December 8, 1894. Mr. Bruyn preceded in death November 4, 1957.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary (Mrs. Jake Kraai) of Sheldon and Lena (Mrs. Arthur Kokenge) of Chicago, Ill.; two sons, John of Edgerton, Minn., and Frank of Hospers. A1so surviving are 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Geo. Oelrich, Mrs. Ike Vos and Mrs. Plender of Orange City and Mrs. Geo Fedders of Estherville; and one brother, Richard Vander Stoep of Aurora.
Preceding in death were one son, William, who died at the age of 8 months, and two brothers, Floris and Lane Vander Stoep.
