Adelaide Bathen
Mrs. Adelaide C. Bathen, age 86 of Orange City formerly of Alton, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1982 at the Marian Health Center in Sioux City, after a short illness.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at St Mary's Catholic Church in Alton. The Rev. Fr. David Hogan will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home of Orange City.
Adelaide C. was born December 19, 1895, at Kaukauna, Wis., the daughter of Frank Minkebige and Elizabeth (Fischer) Minkebige. On Feb. 22, 1920, she married Leo
Adelbert Bathen, at Kaukauna. Mr. Bathen passed away Feb. 6, 1981.
The lived in Riceville, Iowa, until 1964, when they moved to Alton. Mrs. Bathen became a resident the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City in 1980.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church and its Rosary Society, she also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary and St. Anne's Study Club.
Survivors include one son, James H Bathen of Alton; one daughter, Mrs. Gervis (Betty Lee) Kesten, of Downev, CA.; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; and one
sister, Mrs. Lester (Frances) Van Roy of Appleton, Wis.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bathen was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
