Clarence Bruxvoort
(March 16, 1913----October 16, 1991)
Clarence Bruxvoort, 78, of Pella, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 1991 at the Pella Community Hospital.
Services were held Friday, Oct. 18 at the First Christian Reformed Church, Pella.
Rev. J. Mark Beach officiated. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Pella under direction of the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home, Pella.
Mr. Bruxvoort was born March 16, 1913 at Crookston, Minn. to Herman and Johanna (Meinders) Bruxvoort. In 1927 the family moved to Orange City where Clarence graduated from grade school. In 1936 Clarence came to the Sully area to seek employment. On Jan 14, 1938 he married Minerva Jansen. Clarence was employed at various jobs in the Sully area. In 1962 the family moved to the New Sharon area where they operated a dairy farm until moving to Pella in 1970. Clarence then served as custodian for the Pella Christian Grade. School and the First Christian Reformed Church. He then worked for Van Gorp Mfg., retiring due to health problems.
He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Pella where he served as a Cadet leader.
Survivors include his wife Minerva; five children and their spouses, Henry and Nancine Bruxvoort of New Sharan, Betty and Charles Ybema of Byron Center, Mich.,
Roger and Marlene Bruxvoort of Reasnor, Marilyn and Bruce Bandstra of Pella, Linda and Wade Dawley of New Sharon, and a son-in-law, Robert J. Van Houweling and his wife Lois of Pella; 12 grandchildren, David Lee Van Houweling and his wife Brenda, Dennis James and Denise Lynn Van Houweling; Julia Rae and her husband Joel Veenstra and James Michael Bruxvoort ; Sara Arlene and Arthur Charles Ybema; Jeffrey Dean, Jamie D. and Jodi Dawn Bruxvoort ; Tara Lynn Bandstra and
Jacob J. Dawley; three sisters and three brothers, Effie, Mrs.Ralph Bremer of Jenison, Mich.; Anne, Mrs. Clarence Van Kalsbeek of Hospers, Gerrit Bruxvoort Orange City; Brant Bruxvoort of Sheldon; John Bruxvoort of LaVerne, Minn., and Hermina, Mrs. Roy Bloemendaal of Orange City.
Preceding him in death were his infant son, Harold; a daughter, Arlene, Mrs. Robert Van Houweling; his parents; and sisters and brothers, Bessie, Mrs. Sipp La Fleur. Henry Bruxvoort, an infant brother Gilbert. Janette, Tim and Gilbert Bruxvoort.
