Harholt Rites Held Thursday

Solemn requiem mass was offered at service held at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic church in Aberdeen for Clarence Harholt,75, a brother of Mrs. George Moore, who died following a stroke Monday, September 11.

The rosary was recited Wednesday evening at the Kruger-Johnson Funeral home there. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery.

Mr. Harholt was born in Hawarden May 5, 1887. In 1916 he moved to Hecla, S.D., where he purchased a clothing business from Earl Meeter and Harry "Dinty" Waites.

He married Katherine Kissinger in Hecla on April 12, 1920. In 1923 they moved to Aberdeen where he was county treasurer and later county commissioner for serveral years. Following that he worked at the First National bank in Aberdeen, retiring three years ago. He was a member of the American Legion and taps were sounded at his burial.

Survivors include the widow; two sisters, Miss Florence Harholt of Sioux City and Mrs. George Moore of Hawarden and a nephew, John Moore, of Toledo, Ohio.
