Joyce E. Daale, Age 59

Joyce E. Daale, 59, of rural Hawarden, died Friday, March 14, 2003 at her residence. Funeral services were held Monday at 10:30 in the Christian Reformed Church in Hawarden, Iowa with burial at Grace Hill Cemetery, Hawarden.

Joyce E. Daale was born December 12, 1943, in Hudson, South Dakota, the daughter of Dick and Mae (Vanden Bosch) Dorhout. She graduated from Western Christian High School in Hull and attended Dordt College. Joyce taught one year at the Inwood Christian School prior to her marriage to Ronald Daale on June 18, 1963 at Lebanon, Iowa. Together they lived northeast of Hawarden.

Joyce was an active member of the Christian Reformed Church in Hawarden.

Surviving relatives include her father, Dick Dorhout and wife, Lucille, of Rock Valley, Iowa; husband, Ronald; three children: Sandra Pollema and husband Douglas and their sons, Brody, Darin, Kyle and Justin of Hull, Iowa; Robert Daale of Hawarden, and Melissa Van Egdom and husband David and their daughters, Ashley and Claire of Hull; two brothers: Les Dorhout and wife Ruth of Ireton, Iowa and Harlan Dorhout and wife Mary of Rock Valley; three sisters, Bernice Vander Stoep and husband Harold of Maurice, Iowa, Sharon Boeyink and husband Keith of Canton, SD and Bev Schlicker of Omaha, NE; a stepbrother with whom she grew up, Jim Boeyink and wife Sharon of Sioux Center, Iowa; a stepsister with whom she grew up, Karen Mulder and husband Darrell of Ireton, Iowa; two brothers-in-law: Peter Daale and wife Henrietta and Wilbur Daale and wife Lucy of Hawarden; and other stepbrothers and stepsisters, nephews and nieces.

Joyce was preceded in death by her mother, Mae Dorhout; two stepmothers, Barb Dorhout and Jo Dorhout; and a niece, List Dorhout.
