Henry B Rensink October 19, 1924 - October 12, 2010
Mr.Henry Rensink, age 85, of Hospers, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon. There will be a memorial service on Friday, October 15, at 10:30am, at the First Reformed Church in Hospers. The Rev. Milton Sikkema and the Rev. Clyde Rensink will officiate. Interment will be prior to the service at the Hospers Cemetery. There will be a prayer service on Friday, at 9:30am, at the church. Visitation will be after 4:00pm on Thursday, with the family present from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, at the church. Arrangements are with the Oolman Funeral Home in Hospers. Henry Bernard was born on October 19, 1924, at Hospers, the son of Cornelius and Sena (Jurink) Rensink. He was raised on the family farm near Newkirk and attended the Newkirk Consolidated Elementary School. After moving to Hospers, he graduated from the Hospers High School in 1942. While there, he was active in sports and music. He served in the United States Army in Japan following their surrender during World War II. On September 7, 1949, he was united in marriage to Daloris Verna Van Oort at the Matlock Reformed Church. They farmed near Hospers for 48 years and in 1997 moved into Hospers. In June of 2008, they became residents of Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Sheldon. On May 5 of this year, he transferred to the Sheldon Sanford Senior Care. Henry was an active member of the First Reformed Church, where he served on the consistory many years. He also served on the board of directors of the Farmers Cooperative in Hospers. He enjoyed outdoor activities, especially baseball, and liked watching his favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals. His work ethic and integrity were evident in his home, church, and community. As a husband, father, and grandfather, his love was unlimited. Survivors include his wife of more than 61 years; three children, Byrla Jean Busch, and her husband, David, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; Clyde Henry Rensink, and his wife, Debra, of Clinton, Wisconsin; and Keith Allen Rensink, and his wife, Rosemary, of Hospers; six grandchildren, Paula Busch Ahlrich, and her husband, Nate, of Claire; Mark Busch, in the military at Fort Hood, Texas; Jonathan Busch, of St. Paul, Minnesota; Christopher Rensink, of St. Louis, Missouri; Derrick Rensink, of Sarasota, Florida; and Megan Rensink, of Clinton, Wisconsin; two step-grandchildren, Melissa Van Leeuwen, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Rebecca Van Leeuwen Harpenau, and her husband, Brent, of Urbandale; a great-grandson, Matthew Ahlrich; and a brother-in-law, Albert Heemstra, of Sioux Center. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellen, on December 29, 1961; a brother and his wife, Gilbert and Kathryn Rensink; and a sister, Berdella Heemstra.
