July 21, 1911-March 12, 1999

Jennie Franke, 87, of Ireton died on Friday, March 12, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital. Funeral services were at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ireton on Monday, with the Rev. John Doolittle and the Rev. Wayne Sneller officiating. Burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ireton.

Jennie Franke was born on July 21, 1911, on the Sneller family farm near Hull, the daughter of Henry and Dena (Koerselman) Sneller. She attended rural school near Hull and Sioux Center. She was employed as a nurse's aide at the Le Mars hospital and also taught Sunday school prior to her marriage to Orin Franke on February 28, 1951, at the Franke family farm near Ireton, where they continued to farm the family farm.

Orin Franke died on September 13, 1995. Mrs. Franke was a long-time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ireton.

Surviving relatives include two brothers and their wives, Bill and Verna Sneller of Sioux Center and Ray and Carolyn Sneller of Parker, South Dakota; a sister, Grace De Boer of Sioux Center; and many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ed, Gerrit and Henry; and five sisters, Dena (Mrs. Neal) Van Roekel, Bertha (Mrs. Bill) Cleveringa, Jennie in infancy, Gertrude (Mrs. John) Statema and Agnes Sneller.
