ORIN FRANKE

Orin Franke, 88, of rural Ireton, IA, died on Wednesday, September 13, 1995, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Services were held on Saturday morning, September 16, 1995, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ireton, the Rev. Perry Schefelker officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Ireton under the direction of the Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Ireton.

Mr. Franke was born May 20, 1907, on the family farm in Center Township, northeast of Ireton, the son of Henry and Lydia (Siege) Franke. He was baptized June 16, 1907, and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on May 15, 1921, at St. Paul's. He attended rural school and graduated from Ireton High School in 1925. He married Sarah Riemersma in 1938, and the couple farmed the family farm. She died in 1943. He married Jennie Sneller on February 28, 1951, at the family home near Ireton.

Mr. Franke was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where he had been a Sunday school teacher, chairman of the congregation and trustee.

Survivors include his wife, Jennie, and many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Elmer, and a nephew, Daryl.
