MRS. ORIN FRANKE PASSED AWAY

Mrs. Orin Franke passed away at the Doornink hospital at Orange City on Thursday morning, Nov. 18, 1943, at the age of 38 years. She had been ill for many months due to cancer.

Mrs. Franke, nee Sarah Riemersma, was born in Sioux Center on May 29, 1905, and spent all of her life in or near Sioux Center. Previous to her marriage she spent several years as a country school teacher. She was united in marriage to Mr. Orin Franke of Ireton, who survives her, as also her aged mother, Mrs. J. Riemersma and one sister, Mrs. J. W. Kosters, and four brothers, John and Ben, who both make their home in Michigan, Jim of Hospers and George of Sioux Center.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon [Nov. 22] at 12:30 at her home at Ireton and at 1:30 at the First Christian Reformed Church with the Rev. Arnoys officiating. Burial was made at the St. Paul Lutheran cemetery at Ireton, and acting [as] pallbearers were Oscar Heidbrink, Ed Heidbrink, John Dekker, Gerrit Ricklefs, Delbert Dittmer and Milton Dittmer.

A similar obituary was published in the Sioux County Index (Hull), Nov. 25, 1943. It gives her mother's and sister's names as Mrs. John Riemersma and Mrs. John W. Kosters.
