Dick Van Wyk, 69, of Hawarden, died Friday (May 13, 1977) at a hospital there.

Services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Commimity Reformed church. Rev. Phillip Frens and Rev. Harold Siegloff officiated. Burial in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Van Wyk was bom Jan. 9,1908 in the Netherlands. He married Alice Rozeboom Dec. 12, 1940 at Siqux Center. They farmed in the Rock Valley community, and retired last January. He was a member of the Community Reformed. Church.

Survivors are His wife; two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Diane) Ten Napel of Ireton, and Debra of Hawarden; three sons, John and Stan of Hawarden and Gerald of Hudson, S.D.; eight grandchildren; three sisters; Mrs. Hendrene Schutt of Warsaw, Ind., Mrs. Martha Van 'Roekel of Valley Springs, S.D., arid Mrs. Leonard (Gertrude) VanderEsch of Hawarden.

Dick Van Wyk, the son of Jacob and Gertrude Van Roekel, was born January 9, 1908 in the Netherlands. and passed away at the Hawarden Hospital on May 13, 1977.
He was united in marriage to Alice Rozeboom on December 12, 1940 at Sioux Center
They farmed in the Rock Valley area before moving to the Hawarden area in 1957. They retired from the farm and moved into Hawarden in January of 1977. He was a charter member of the Community Reformed Church of Hawarden.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Diane) Ten Napel of Ireton and Miss Debra Van Wyk of Hawarden: three sons, John of Hawarden, Gerald of Hudson, South Dakota and Stan of Hawarden: eight grandchildren: three sisters. Mrs. Hendrene Schutt of Warsaw, Indiana, Mrs. Martha Van Roekel of Valley Springs, South Dakota and Mrs. Leonard (Gertrude) Vander Esch of Hawarden.
