John H. Brunskill, a resident of this community for many years, died at his home in this city Tuesday afternoon [April 23], after a very brief illness from pneumonia. He was taken ill last week and his condition was very critical from the beginning. Funeral services will be held at the M. E. church at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon.

The deceased was born at Apple River, Wis., Nov. 23, 1873. He moved with his parents to LeMars in 1875. In 1881 he came with them to Sioux county and continued to make his home on the farm northeast of Hawarden until last fall when he moved his family to Hawarden. On April 7, 1897, he was united in marriage with Miss Rose Stiles. Two daughters, Vera and Ruth, were born to this union. Besides his wife and two daughters he is survived by his aged mother, also two brothers, Metcalf Brunskill of Redig, S.D., and Sam Brunskill of Hawarden. He joined the Methodist church three years ago and at the time of his death was a member of the board of trustees. The members of the official board will act as pall bearers at the funeral.

John Brunskill had a wide circle of warm friends. He was a kind and affectionate husband and father, a splendid neighbor and citizen. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved family.
