Edward J. Kading, 92, of Ireton, died Sun., Jan. 11, 1998 at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m., Wed., Jan. 14 at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Ireton with Rev. Loren Vogler officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Ireton. Visitation began at 11 a.m., Tues., Jan. 13 with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. with Rev. Dean Shelly of the Ireton United Methodist Church officiating, at the Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Ireton.

Mr. Edward John Kading was born April 20, 1905 at Casey, the son of Edward and Albertina (Storck) Kading. He came to the Ireton area in 1914 where he attended rural school.

Edward married Erlene Parrott of Ireton on August 28, 1939 in Sioux City. He spent his entire life in the Ireton area farming and feeding livestock, retiring to Ireton in 1979. He was active in church and community affairs.

Survivors include his wife, Erlene; nieces and nephews. Edward was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margurete Heidbrink and Edna Vander Hamm; and two brothers, Martin Kading and Paul Kading.
