From the Alton Democrat of Jan 20, 1894 Boyden Items.
Mrs. John Stengtes (Stientjes) residing four miles north of town, died the forepart of the week after a short illness with typhoid fever. One of the boys is still very low with the same disease.
(This was found to be Mrs. Bena Arends Stientjes b. 1841 died abt 17 Jan 1894, buried in Sheridan Tsp. cemetery Boyden. In her husband's obit it mentioned the children as T. J. Stientjes & Joe at Boyden, Mrs. J. Eerke, and Mrs. G. Wesselink of Sheldon, and Mrs. J. S. De Vries of Hospers.)
