DEATH OF FINLEY BURKE
Prominent Iowa Lawyer Passes Away at Council Bluffs

Finley Burke, a former prominent attorney of Sioux county, but of recent years of Council Bluffs, and well known throughout the state, died Monday at Mercy hospital in Council Bluffs of appendicitis. He was taken suddenly ill last Wednesday, and Thursday morning was removed from his residence to the hospital where he was operated upon. He rallied from the operation well, but the case was an aggravated one, and in the night Sunday he began failing rapidly. Mr. Burke was for several years president of the Pottawattamie County Bar Association and a member of the state board of law examiners. He was 48 years of age, and leaves a wife and four children. He was admitted to practice law before he was 20 years of age, and for several years had the distinction of being the youngest lawyer in the state.
