Passed Away Suddenly Last Wednesday in Kansas City, Mo.

Thomas Burke, well known in Hawarden, passed away suddenly in Kansas City, Mo., last Wednesday from heart trouble. Mrs. A. H. Nolan, his sister, of Madison, S.D., received word from Kansas City telling of his death. His remains were brought to Sheldon and were accompanied by Miss Anne Mullin of Boulder, Colo., his cousin, and in whose home Tom was raised. Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock this morning in the Catholic church in Sheldon, Rev. Fr. McCormack officiating. Interment was made in the Mullin family plot in Sheldon as this was a request of his foster parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Dan Mullin.

Thomas Burke, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Burke of Hudson vicinity, was born March 24, 1902, and passed away Aug. 23, 1933, at the age of 31 years, 4 months and 29 days. His mother passed away when he was but 10 days old and his father passed away three and a half years later. He was taken into the home of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dan Mullin of Sheldon when three weeks old where he was reared and cared for as a child of their own. Mr. Mullin was a brother of Mrs. Burke. He attended the Sheldon schools, graduating from the high school in that city and later he attended Trinity College in Sioux City. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. A. H. Nolan of Madison, S.D., and one brother, Raymond Burke of California. One sister, Gertrude, passed away several years ago and one brother, Bryan, died May 27th of this year. He also leaves a number of other relatives among whom are five daughters of his foster parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Dan Mullin, who had learned to love him as a brother.
