On Friday evening last [Sept. 30], at 11 o'clock, at the family home, three miles south of Hudson, occurred the death of Mrs. Burk, beloved wife of Thomas Burk. Deceased was fifty-nine years of age, and her death was caused by consumption. She leaves surviving her a sorrowing husband, and two sons, Jack and Tom, who are living at home, a daughter, Mrs. A. D. Jones, who lives at Hawarden, and Mrs. Allen, of this county. The funeral was held here on Sunday afternoon, services being held at the Catholic church. Mrs. Burk was at all times a loving wife and mother, and a true friend, and her death is mourned by all.

Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Jones have been at Eden the past week at the bedside of Mrs. Jones' mother, Mrs. Thos. Burke. Mrs. Burke's illness is of a complicated nature and her recovery is doubtful.

Mrs. Thomas Burke died at her home three miles north of Hudson the night of Sept. 30 [1892]. She was 59 years of age and was survived by her husband, two sons and two daughters.
