Alton Democrat of March 3, 1894 Sioux Center Items.
Mr. Zoetenhorst, an aged and respected citizen of Old Sioux Center, died last Friday after a long and serious illness. The funeral was held Monday.
(From the Cemetery Index Peter Zeutenhorst died 23, Feb 1894 age 63 years 6 months and 12 days, buried in the Sioux Center Cemetery. From an Ancestry.com account Peter Zeutenhorst was born 16 Sep 1831 Voorst Gelderland Netherlands, m. Oct 3, 1857 Voorst, He married Jenneke Jansen 1829-9 Jun 1864 died Voorst. They had at least one daughter Jannetje 1858-1922 who married Jan Zeutenhorst.)

A Mr. Zeutenhorst died at the home of Rev. Jas. DePree, some
six weeks ago. At the time of his death $43.00 was all the
money found in his possession. He was supposed to have some
money. This small sum being all he seemingly had, the
relatives began hunting over his pennies. In a wagon shed
they found an old jar which upon removal, showed earth
evidently disturbed. Digging down into this earth some 3
feet, $4000 was found. This money now goes to his only
daughter.
