Margie E. Anderson, 87, Hawarden, died Thursday, April 12; 1990, in the Hawarden hospital of a long illness.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Associated church in Hawarden. Rev. Fredrich Mellberg officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden, under direction of the Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden.

Mrs. Anderson, the former Margie Bedard, was born Jan. 1,1903, in Union county, S.D. to Samuel and Nellie Bedard. She attended Scott School in rural Alcester, S.D. She married William Wilken, Sept. 1, 1921. He preceded her in death. She married Rueben Anderson Jan. 12, 1967 at Akron. They farmed near Alcester until 1974, when they moved to Hawarden. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Associated Church, Women's Fellowship and Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband; two step daughters, Mrs. Jack (Joyce) Leach of Albert Lea, Minn., and Pat Jacobs of Sioux City; six step-grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; and one sister, Fleeta Bonnichsen of Oregon.
