Gladys A. (Heuer) Gebauer, 83, of Hawarden died Tuesday, December 5, at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden.

Memorial services were at 11 A.M., Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden with the Rev. Loren Vogler officiating. Burial of the cremains was prior to the service in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Gebauer was born July 18, 1917, the daughter of William and Eva (Witt) Heuer. She married Henry W. Gebauer on April 29, 1935, in Hawarden. The couple lived in Hawarden until 1937, when they moved to Plymouth County. They farmed there until retiring in 1978, when they returned to Hawarden.

She was a volunteer at Hillcrest Care Center, Hawarden Community Hospital Auxiliary and Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards and gardening.

Survivors include her husband; three sons and their wifes, Larry and Willo of Bailey, Colorado; Marty and Fran of Ireton, and Jeff and Shay of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Connie and Jim Clementson of Longmont, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Orville "Boots" and Helen Heuer of Phoenix, Arizona; a sister, Bernice Bradley of Fort Collins, Colorado; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth "Betty' Heuer of Hawarden.

She was preceded in death by a brother, William "Tony" Heuer; and two sistes, Martha Warner and LaVern Heuer in infancy.
