Henry Allen, a resident of Hawarden for over 40 years, passed away suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Park Hudson, at Osceola, on Monday, September 4. Mr. Allen had spent much of his time the past two or three years with his daughter.

His remains were brought back to Hawarden and funeral services were held at the Baptist Church last Friday afternoon, with Rev. J. H. Flaming in charge. Interment was in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Henry S. Allen was born in the State of New Hampshire on October 9, 1869, and passed away September 4, 1944, at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 25 days. He was married to Anna Erickson June 27, 1900, and for two years following their marriage they lived at Lake City. They moved to Hawarden to make their home. To this union were born two children. His wife passed away on March 27, 1929. He is survived by his two children, Mrs. Della Hudson of Osceola and Leslie of Hawarden, and two sisters, Mrs. Will Rice of Lake City and Mrs. Gus Jensen of Spokane, Wash. There are six grandchildren.

Out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Mr. & Mrs. Park Hudson and son, Warren of Osceola; Mr. & Mrs. Will Rich of Lake City; Mr. & Mrs. Ted Hansen of Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. Elmer Pankey of Fort Dodge; Mrs. W. J. Kral of Lake City and Mr. & Mrs. Michael Bowen of Chicago.
