Beatrice Earll, 87, of Hawarden died Saturday, Sept. 5 at Morningside Manor in Alcester.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist church in Hawarden. The Rev. Paul Hanson officiated. Burial was in; Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden, under direction of Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden.
Mrs. Earll, the former Beatrice Dougherty was born Feb. 7, 1905 in Lexington, Neb., the daughter of William and Lena (Gifford) Dougherty. She moved to South Dakota as a child where she received her education. She moved to Hawarden in 1928. She taught elementary school in South Dakota for 23 years. Mrs. Earll was a member of the United Methodist church and United Methodist Women; the American Legion Auxiliary and the Hawarden hosptial auxiliary; the Royal Neighbors of America; the South Dakota Retired Teachers Association; and the Hawarden Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Connie and Kitty O'Connor of Sedona, Ariz; four grandchildren, all of Arizona; 11 great-, grandchildren and four greatgreat- grandchildren.
