Mrs. Anthony (Mary) Gaul, 94, died Wednesday, January 20, 1993 at Happy Siesta Nursing Home in Remsen.

Funeral services were at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, January 23 1993 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Granville. Rev. Clem Currans officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen.

Mrs. Gaul was born January 31, 1898 at Granville to Henry and Anna (Paradise) Bernard. She was raised and educated in Granville where she attended St. Joseph's Catholic School.

Her marriage to Anthony Gaul took place June 3, 1924 at Granville. The couple farmed at Granville for many years. After her husband's death in 1943, Mary moved into Granville where she was employed as a telephone operator for the phone company in Granville for many years.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Granville, and the Church Guild.

Surviving are a sister, Catherine Bernard of Granville and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Frank and Lawrence Bernard; and two sisters, Mrs. Martha Goebel and Mrs. Olivia Broermann.
