Mrs. Anna Den Hartog, nee Anna De Boer, was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 1, 1898. On May 12, 1915 she was united in marriage to John Den Hartog at Alton. To this union 13 children were born: Alvin of Hospers; Francis of Modesto, Calif., Richard of Primghar; Angeline (Mrs. John Zwagerman) of Belgrade, Minn.; Genevieve (Mrs. Jerome Van Kaaten) of Bellflower, Calif.; Luella (Mrs. Wm. Grotenhuis) of Hospers; Alma (Mrs. Bert Van Kley), Sibley; Howard, Wilma, Donald, John, Jr., and Wanda all of Hospers. One child died in infancy. There are 17 grandchildren surviving and one grandchild preceded Mrs. Den Hartog. She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Jess (Mrs. Sam Stuurman) of Lynden, Wash.; Henry De Boer of Sumaz, Wash.; John De Boer of Portland, Ore.; Gt. De Boer of Pella, IA.; Frank De Boer of Oglive, Minn.; Charles De Boer of Sibley; Mrs. Grace Braband of Ballaton, Minn. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her.
