Herman J. Wissink
Herman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hermanus Wissink, was born January 17, 1890, in Hudson, South Dakota. In his youth, the family moved to Sioux Center where he received his education in the country school.
He was united in marriage to Dina Bos on November 19, 1919, in Sioux Center, Iowa. After their marriage they lived in Carmel and Sioux Center area. He farmed for awhile and also was a concrete mason until his retirement. His wife, Dina, passed away on July 2, 1962.
He was a member of the First Reformed Church and also belonged to the American Legion. Mr. Wissink was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include two sons: Dick, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Gerald of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two brothers: Lawrence of Sheldon, Iowa, and Alfred of Grand Rapids, Michigan; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dina; his parents; a daughter, Marguerite, on April 2, 1978; a grandson, Craig; brothers: Henry, George, Martin, William, Harvey; and two infant brothers, Henry and Gerritt; and one sister, Rena DenHerder.
