Lindgren, Mrs. Emil

Mrs. Emil Lindgren, 71, of Hawarden died Friday at a Sioux City hospital after a one-month illness.

Services were at 10:30 am Monday in the First Baptist Church at Hawarden. The Rev. Arthur J. DeNeui officiated. Burial was in the Grace Hill Cemetery. A prayer service was held Sunday at 8:00 pm at the Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden.

Mrs. Lindgren, the former Johanna Jensen, was born Marcy 29, 1906 in Denmark. She came to the United States and Viborg, SD with her parents in 1910. The family moved to the Hawarden area in 1915. She was married June 24, 1930 at Alcester, SD.

The couple farmed in Union County, SD, just west of Hawarden until 1973 when they moved to Hawarden.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include the widower; a son, Paul of Alcester; three daughters, Mrs. James (Patricia) Dunnam and Mrs. Larry (Peggy) Nilson, both of Hawarden and Mrs. Bruce (Pauline) Popken of Elma; two brothers, Walter of Alcester and Sophus of Denver, CO; four sisters, Miss Minnie Jensen, Mrs. Wilbur Cain, Mrs. Olga Knight and Mrs. Katherine Dowdy, all of Hawarden, 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
