Dorothy 0. Busch, 74, Hawarden, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1992. at the Hawarden Community Hospital.

Services were Friday at the Associated church in Hawarden. Rev. Fredrich Mellberg officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery, under direction of Porter- Dow funeral Home, Hawarden.

She was born January 27, 1918 in Union county, S.D., the daughter of Herbert C. and Ida Mae (Crowther) Scott. She attended Scott school and graduated from Hawarden High School in 1935. She married Arthur Busch Nov. 14, 1936 at Dakota City, Neb. Dorothy received her B.S. degree from USD in Vermillion in 1965 and later her library science degree. She had taught for many years in rural schools in Union county, S.D. and the West Sioux school district before retiring in 1980. She was an active member of the Associated Church and had taught Sunday school and served in various church boards. She was past worthy matron of the Loyal Chapter #204 Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur; two sons, Scott Bradley Busch of Longmont, Colo., and Carey Douglas Busch of Brighton, Colo.; one daughter, Linda Peterson of Longmont, Colo.; two brothers, Paul Scott of Hudson, S.D. and Wayne Scott of Hawarden; two sisters, Madeline Bird of Scottsbluff, Neb. and Mrs. Don (Margaret) Leafstedt of Hawarden; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Carey Scott and a sister, Evelyn Whitehouse.
