GERRIT VANDER WILT OF PELLA BURIED HERE

Friday the body of Gerrit Vander Wilt of Pella was taken to Middleburg for internment in the cemetery there by Ed Plette, mortician of the Wormhoudt and Plette Co. of Pella.

Mr. Vander Wilt, (Pud) to his many friends in Pella and in this vicinity, had been ailing since last winter when he was seriously ill with pneumonia. The direct cause of his death was a heart attack. His brother, Will, of Middleburg, had been with him during the last few weeks and his nephew, Dr. Vander Wilt, of Rock Rapids, was at his bedside when death called. They had planned to take him to Middleburg where he would be with the rest of his brothers and sister but death intervened. He was over 77 years old at the time of his death.

Mr. Vander Wilt was the second member of the Vander Wilt family to be called by death in the past month. His sister, Mrs. Nick Bomgaars of Hull, passed away three weeks ago Monday following a short illness.
