MRS. N. BOMGAARS, HULL, PASSED AWAY

Mrs. Nick Bomgaars of Hull passed away Monday [July 31] after a short illness. She was born February, 1864, in Marion county, near Pella, Iowa. When she was a young lady of 18 she moved to Sioux county with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Vander Wilt, and settled near Middleburg. Four years later, in 1886, she was united in marriage to Nick Bomgaars. They remained in wedlock until 1927 when Mr. Bomgaars died. Mr. and Mrs. Bomgaars farmed in this vicinity until about twelve years ago when they retired and moved to Hull where they made their home.

Leaving to mourn Mrs. Bomgaars' passing are five sons and three daughters: Anthony of Boyden; Edward of Hull; Gerrit of Matlock; Joe of Hull; Mrs. John Van Oort of Middleburg; Henry of Hull; Mrs. Will Van Dyke of Hull; and Sophie who is still at home. One son, Marinus, died when he was seventeen in 1904. She is also survived by five brothers, Gerrit of Orange City; Herman of Sioux Center; Anthony of Boyden; Will of Sheldon; Walter of Middleburg; and one sister, Mrs. Nick Bomgaars of Middleburg.

Funeral services were held Thursday, 1:00 o'clock at the home and 1:30 at the First Reformed Church at Hull, Rev. Douwstra officiating.

The Sioux County death record (Transcript of Deaths 1922-1940) gives her name as Margarite Bomgaars; died July 31, 1933, age 65, in Hull.
