RESPECTED LADY PASSES AWAY
Mrs. J. A. K. Bekman passed away this Friday morning, February 8th, at her home here at Alton. The funeral will be held on Monday, February 11th, from the Dutch Reformed church here at 2 o'clock.
Mrs. Bekman was born in Holland on June 19, 1845. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Bekman, two dying in infancy and the eldest, Henry, dying at Orange City December 25, 1916. Three survive, besides her husband, to mourn their loss. John K., Mrs. E. D. Smedley and Mrs. Peter Lucas, all of Alton. The couple emigrated to America in March, 1889 and settled at Alton.
